Builder, researcher, designer and webmaster. Ecological Systems Design, Oracle, AZ. Associate of architect Phil Hawes on various architecture, permaculture, town planning and building projects with a focus on ecological design.
 
2000 - 2001
Designer and draftsman. Dan Smith & Associates, Berkeley, CA Designer with a small architecture firm specializing in strawbale residences. Projects included light wood-framed structures, timber-frame / strawbale houses, and various commercial renovations.
 
1999 - 2000
ISelf-Employed Designer & Builder, El Cerrito, CA. Contract design and drafting in collaboration with various local architects. Designer-builder on the Graham Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel in Berkeley, CA under the direction of architect Daniel Liebermann. Designed and built a carport / deck for the Green Residence in El Cerrito, CA.
 
1997 - 1999
Builder, designer and marketing coordinator. Sun, Light & Power, Berkeley, CA. Builder on sunroom additions, solar domestic hot water, and photovoltaic solar systems. In house designer on various residential additions and remodels. Designed company products binder, and exhibit displays for home shows, and Earth Day booths.

Builder. Ecotecture, El Cerrito, CA. Assisted lead carpenter on seismic retrofit, drainage, and remodel work on various East Bay residences.
 
1991 - 1993
Apprentice. Tsui Design and Research, Emeryville, CA. Builder, draftsman and designer on various residential and commercial projects under the direction of architect Eugene Tsui. Our work at TDR incorporated innovative use of sustainable building materials and techniques.
 
1990 - 1991
Draftsman and designer. Del Campo and Maru, San Francisco, CA. Member of the architectural teams for: a) the 20-story asbestos abatement, space planning and renovation of the SF Federal Building, and b) design development and contract documents for The New Sheriff's Facility, also in San Francisco.
 
1987 - 1990
Draftsman and designer. Optimal Design Group. Worked on various residential ground ups, additions and remodels under the direction of architect and structural engineer Michael Rabichev.
