Michael Herman is Chief Counsel for Communication and Business Development for Global EcoVillage Corporation.  He is also Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Communication Sciences International, LLC.  a company that provides specialized strategic business consulting to manufacturing and service company management teams seeking growth and excellence.  He provides senior consultation services in business development, crisis management, strategic planning, media relations, organizational communication, change management, marketing and public relations/public affairs.

Mr. Herman, served 17 years as Chairman and CEO for Epley Associates Public Relations and as Vice Chairman for Global Development for The Catevo Group Worldwide, as well as CEO of Catevo Middle East.  He is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and a member of the PRSA’s prestigious College of Fellows, where he served as 2009 Chair.  Early in his career, he served on the Governing Council of the International Public Relations Association and as the organization's liaison member to the United Nations Headquarters, on consultative status to the Economic and Social Council and the Office of Public Information.   He has represented the United States at international conferences on crisis management in Moscow and served as a keynote speaker in Puerto Rico at the Annual Confederation Interamericana de Relaciones Publicas, (CONFIARP) Forum for public relations practitioners from South America. He received the 2009 Gold Anvil for Lifetime Career Achievement from PRSA, the highest worldwide individual honor bestowed by the profession.

He has authored more than 50 nationally and internationally published articles, papers, and presentations in communication, public relations, business management and change management.  He served as a member of the faculty in public relations at North Carolina State University’s School of Communication from 1986 to 2000 and is currently an adjunct professor of communication and change management at Illinois State University.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina China Center where he serves as President and Executive Director.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a Master of Arts in public relations from the University of Oklahoma as well as post-graduate certificates from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and The Graduate School of Business at Columbia University.
